SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
  • Part-time (3 days per week)
  • Location: Morecambe
  • Salary: Paid to appropriate scale point
  • Contract Term: April 2024 until July 2023

We are seeking a highly motivated SENCO to join a fantastic community primary school in Morecambe. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified SENDCo to make a significant impact in a supportive and friendly environment.

Day to day of the role:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEN policy.
  • Coordinate provision for children with special educational needs.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support for SEN students.
  • Advise on the graduated approach to providing SEN support.
  • Help to raise awareness of SEN issues at the staff level.
  • Ensure that SEN records are up to date and accurate.
  • Organise and manage resources to meet the needs of students with SEN.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified SENDCo with a strong understanding of recent SEND legislation.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with parents and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead and coordinate support services.
