Hardware Design Engineer
Location: New Malden
Salary: Up to £51,000 depending on qualifications & experience
Are you an Engineer with a passion for hardware systems? This is your opportunity to join a dynamic & growing (again) team to take on a pivotal role in designing, testing, and installing cutting-edge electrical & hardware systems!
What will you be doing?
- Generate design, test, and installation documentation
- Conduct design proving with a focus on environmental and Electromagnetic Compatibility aspects
- Investigate and resolve design issues to ensure optimal performance
- Design and build electrical and hardware systems to meet acceptance criteria
- Provide support to development systems and oversee successful hardware installation on ships
- Utilize Visio for detailed hardware design and documentation
- Demonstrate understanding of Configuration Control and baselines
The skills you need?
- Experience in a hardware engineering domain
- Proficiency in Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware
- Enthusiastic and flexible approach with a proactive mindset
- Openness to involvement in all aspects of team activities
Bonus points for:
- Experience with COTS cabinets, cabinet designs, wiring schedules, and power distribution
- Background in the Defence sector is advantageous
