Senior Systems Engineer, New Milton, £85,000pa

The purpose of this role: 

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll be familiar with system architectural designsystems definition, analysis, testing and reliability within specialist electronic and mechanical product design and NPI. As the most senior member of the Systems Engineering team, you’ll provide leadership to a high-performance, multidisciplinary team delivering in the full lifecycle development and commissioning of specialist equipment.

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will: 

  • Provide technical expertise, working hands-on with designmodelling and simulationanalysis, and testing.
  • Oversee the production and maintenance of documentation, effectively communicating systems functionality requirements.
  • Work closely across functions to deal with failure analysis.
  • Oversee the skills development of the team.
  • Be actively involved in undertaking technical reviews.
  • Facilitate full product lifecycle from initial concept through to manufacture, working to cost and time constraints while ensuring quality and specification targets are met.

The successful Senior Systems Engineer will: 

  • Have previous experience of end-to-end product development and NPI from initial approval, design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Be familiar with converting systems definitions to detailed system design specifications for product manufacture and deployment.
  • Have a strong background in system architectural design, modelling, and simulation as well as systems analysis, testing and reliability engineering.
  • Be accustomed to creating proposals and design documentation, as well as effectively communicating requirements to team members across departments.
  • Take responsibility for overseeing risk management through the project lifecycle.
  • Have previous leadership responsibilities.
