A world class, global manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Inspector with experience of CMM to join their modern manufacturing site in South Nottingham working on a double day shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm).

As a Quality Inspector you will join a small team and be responsible for inspecting technically complex and high precision parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet or exceed customer requirements, design specifications and company quality standards.

Details:

  • Up to £40k basic salary depending on experience (+10% shift premium payable on the afternoon shifts)

Shifts:

Wk 1 = Mon-Thurs 6am-2pm, Fri 6am-1pm,  

Wk 2 =   Mon-Thurs  2pm-10pm, Fri 1pm-8pm     (10% shift premium paid on these shifts)

Key responsibilities of Quality Inspector:

  • Conduct 1st part, in process and final part inspections to ensure accuracy of manufacture and that traceability of documentation is complete.
  • Conduct various quality tests to check conformance to specifications using equipment such as calipers, thickness gauge micrometers, height gauge, hand gauges, manual CMM plus other equipment.
  • Maintain quality records as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct incoming inspections as required by the Quality Management System.

Skills Required of Quality Inspector:

  • 5+ years of previous inspection experience
  • Experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experienced using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, OGP, CMM etc
  • Experience operating manual and programmable CMM equipment
  • Experience of reading drawings
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimension and tolerancing is an advantage
