Empowering Learning are delighted to be working with a school in the NG9 (Beeston) area who are looking to appoint an EYFS Teaching Assistant to work on a full time basis within their Early Years Team.

The school is based close to the city centre and has excellent transport links. The school has recently appointed a new headteacher who has a passion for all things EYFS. The role will start as soon as possible for the right person. The working hours will be 08:30-15:30 and will be Monday - Friday.

The main duties within the role will be:

  • Supporting the teaching and learning within the EYFS unit
  • Leading phonics groups on a daily basis
  • Providing personal care when necessary
  • Using outdoor space to encourage learning through play
  • Providing 1:1 support to children who present with additional needs
  • Leading small academic interventions around basic maths and literacy

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working within EYFS or a nursery setting
  • Has previously delivered some sort of phonics to children
  • Can build relationships with children and staff
  • Is able to support pupils with special educational needs
  • Has an enthusiastic approach to learning
  • Can inspire children during their initial journey into education.
