Heavy Vehicle/Plant Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle/Plant Technician to join our team at Edinburgh Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a variety of airport vehicles and plant equipment, ensuring they are always in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on airport vehicles and plant equipment, including HGVs and heavy plant machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and within the required timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to ensure the reliability and safety of all airport equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role with a background in HGVs, buses, coaches, heavy plant machinery, municipal vehicles, or military vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications are highly desirable.
