- Take a leading role in the provision of ecology services including on Biodiversity Net Gain and Nutrient Neutrality.
- Responsible for the development, training, motivation, monitoring of performance and discipline of Senior Officers and Ecology Officers.
- Provide comments, recommendations and advice on development proposals which may affect ecology/biodiversity including pre-application enquiries, planning applications and discharge of conditions.
- Provide ecology input into policy formulation including the preparation of development plan documents, planning briefs and supplementary planning documents.
- Ecology degree or degree in an appropriate discipline with 3 years post grad experience.
- Extensive knowledge of ecology/biodiversity legislation and national policy and initiatives.
- Membership of (or eligible for) a relevant professional institution e.g. Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
- Experience of involvement in complex ecology projects.
- Experience of dealing with ecology issues with regards to planning applications.
