Electrical Engineer - Marine Service Contracts
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK
Reports to: Electrical Service Manager
Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake electrical, electronic, and control system overhauls and repairs onboard customers' vessels and in our workshop.
- Perform surveys, installation and commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
Essential Experience and Knowledge:
- Expertise in marine ancillary equipment, power management systems, alarm and monitoring systems, switchboards, and generators.
- Proficiency in basic network communications and diagnostics, including IP-based systems.
- Competence in instrumentation communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, Modbus, CAN bus, and Ethernet.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in the marine and offshore industry.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Excellent communication skills.
