Finance Manager
  • Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid, 1 day in the office)
  • Location:  Newcastle
  • Salary Range: £15.50-20.50p/h depending on experience

Reed are supporting a fantastic business searching for a Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance with managing their financial systems, including the nominal ledger, sales ledger, cash book, and project accounting module. Experience with Sage software would be beneficial. The role involves ensuring accurate financial transactions and providing support for various financial operations.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage financial systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records across the nominal ledger, sales ledger, cash book, and project accounting module.
  • Record financial transactions with precision, including invoicing, receipts, and payments.
  • Oversee monthly payroll balances, ensuring timely HMRC payments and pension contributions.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including Gift Aid claims and other relevant financial legislation.
  • Support the Head of Finance and Director in preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Contribute to the audit process, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of finance staff, ensuring a high standard of work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in financial management and accounting.
  • Familiarity with Sage software and other financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple financial tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with various departments and external entities.
  • Experience in assisting with the preparation of management accounts and the audit process.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Duration:

This is a temporary position, 6-9 months initially, with potential for permanent.
