Our client is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineering Team Lead to join their team in the Tyneside area. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for leading a team of 6-8 engineers in the delivery of control system upgrades for electrical power transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and coach the Transmission delivery team to ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality standards and on time
  • Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on all projects
  • Work with the team to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and quality control the control systems delivery processes
  • Liaise with internal and external engineers to provide complete solutions
  • Manage resource and project allocation for the team
  • Provide technical input for pre-sales activities and design reviews


Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry
  • Proven track record of leading a multi-skilled engineering team
  • Strong technical expertise in control and automation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
This is a hybrid role, with the opportunity to work remotely 2-3 days per week. In addition to a competitive base salary, the client is offering a performance-based bonus, flexible working arrangements, a generous pension scheme, and 26 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays).
