We are delighted to continue supporting our loyal client as they grow. A North East based company, fast paced and with a vibrant culture, now need a Payroll Officer to support the Payroll Manager in delivering an efficient and friendly service across the group of businesses.

You will have Payroll experience and may be looking to further develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect all necessary data to enable the preparation of the monthly payroll
  • Processing starters/leavers
  • Entering all bonuses, expenses, overtime
  • Entering all SMP/SSP payments
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly payroll for all group companies
  • Resolve any queries arising from staff in respect of payroll
  • Liaise with HMRC as required ensuring submission of all statutory filing requirements and satisfying all compliance requests
  • Assist in the maintenance and submission of company pension scheme, P11d and PSA settlements
  • Management reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies including data confidentiality and the operational security of the Information Systems used
  • Supporting Payroll Manager with department changes and restructures
  • Process payroll within agreed timetable
  • Salary/Pension/PAYE reconciliations

Person Specification

  • 1-year prior experience within Payroll environment
  • Excellent Numeracy skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good Organisational skills and methodical approach
  • Experience of demonstrating effective teamworking within a commercial environment
  • Cooperative and flexible approach
  • Ability to identify where problems may arise and adopt a solution - focused approach
  • Demonstrate effective communication and good interpersonal skills
  • IT literate
  • Commitment to own personal development
