Jackson Hogg are proud to be supporting a specialist engineering business in the Newcastle area with a Quality Manager appointment.

This position will report directly into the Site Plant Manager and will be responsible for a team of x6 in the Quality Department.

Quality Manager Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day quality operations ensuring product is tested, manufactured, and certified as per technical norms and customer requirements.
  • Management of the destructive and non-destructive testing activity.
  • Management and control of the product and system auditing.
  • Management and control of all relevant QMS systems - ISO9001, ISO14001 etc.
  • Lead and manage the development of preventative / corrective actions.
  • Manage proactively any technical queries with customers providing all necessary guidance.
  • Manage activities surrounding reporting on carbon declarations and sustainability.

  • Self-starting, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic
  • Diligent, articulate with good inter-personal skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills with a "can do" attitude
  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate strong organisational skills
  • Capacity to manage time and information effectively
  • Ability to prioritise, cope under pressure and demonstrate a high-level of initiative
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work unaided and maintain relationships with peers, clients, and suppliers Work productively, efficiently and under tight timescales with meticulous attention to detail
  • Evidence of working in a similar position within a heavy manufacturing industry
  • Experience with metallurgy would be a significant advantage
