Art Teacher

Here at GSL we are working with a friendly secondary school in Newcastle and are looking for a highly motivated art teacher who has experience teaching across key stages 3 and 4 and have a real passion and expertise in Art. 

Our ideal candidates will be able to create engaging and exciting lessons in accordance with the national curriculum , have exemplary behaviour management skills and be prepared to engage in all necessary planning and assessment .

This school prides  themselves on strong focus on outcomes for learners and friendly and supportive staff teams. The school day is 8.30-4.30 PM and our roles are all term time only .The school is easy to reach by car and public transport.

We have Two positions :

1. Long term cover - Monday to Friday until at least July 2024

2. Day to day cover- ad hoc shifts where needed 

Essential requirements

• DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one through ourselves
• UK recognised teaching qualification or a proven track record as an Art specialist within school ( Graduate HLTA Etc )
• Appropriate Classroom experience and excellent subject knowledge in both  practical and theoretical aspects of art
• Great behaviour management strategies
• Flexibility and pro-activity
• Friendly, enthusiastic with good organisational skills
• The ability to build effective rapport with a wide variety of learners 
• Availability till at least July 2024
