As the Quality Engineer, you will take a proactive approach to quality management systems, internal and external audits, and continuous improvement activities, upholding the standards for quality both within the company and suppliers by ensuring compliance to procedures within the quality management system and to manufacturing specifications.

You will facilitate customers and supplier quality assurance activities including root cause analysis and quality improvement.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and other relevant standards.
  • Facilitate, control, and conduct internal audits to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
  • Assist in managing and hosting customer audits, presenting our processes and ensuring transparency.
  • Act as a primary quality contact for customers, addressing and resolving quality issues efficiently.
  • Analyse quality data systematically to identify trends and instigate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and conduct thorough supplier audits.
  • Work closely with the purchasing and engineering departments to manage and resolve material review board (MRB) issues.
  • Lead and champion continuous improvement (CI) activities throughout the organisation

Essential:

  • Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action investigations, 8D problem solving techniques and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) processes.
  • Experience in auditing and maintaining compliance with ISO standards such as ISO 9001 (AS9100, ISO 13485, IPC610 & IPC620 desired but not essential)
  • Strong skills in customer interaction and managing customer-facing quality issues.
  • Proficiency in using QMS systems and various quality resolution tools.
  • Excellent report writing skills and the ability to use quality-related tools effectively.
  • Proven track record in problem resolution and quality improvement initiatives.

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Quality Management and Auditing (e.g., CQA or Lead Auditor Certification).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the PCB assembly or related industry.

Hours:

  • 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday - 8.5 hours
  • Friday - 5 hours
