Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking a Trainee Assistant Management Accountant for a growing manufacturing company in Newport.

As a Trainee Assistant Management Accountant, you will be key in delivering high quality management accounting information and a robust control environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the underlying financial transactions of the business and the delivery of weekly, monthly and year-end reporting processes.

  • Responsibility for Preparing accruals and prepayments for month end.
    • Accountable for Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Control of Fixed Asset accounting including reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register.
    • Ownership of Stock accounting and analysis and preparation of monthly provision requirements.
    • Performance review and variance analysis, comparing with budget and last year, including interpretation and commentary, working with key stakeholders across the organisation.
    • Ownership of accurate trade debtors and trade creditors reporting.
    • Assist in the year end Statutory audit process.
    • Assisting in the budget preparation process.
    • Supporting Purchase ledger - ensuring all manual and 3-way match GRN invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with finance policies and procedures.
    • Assisting in the preparation of BACS payment runs for all UK and overseas suppliers.
    • Ensuring all remittances are sent to suppliers.

Qualifications, Experience, Technical Skills & Knowledge

Minimum AAT Finalist and ideally CIMA /ACCA part qualified.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance function.
