Brook Street are happy to announce that we have a fantastic opportunity for budding accounting graduates to join a well established client based in Newport. We're searching for newly graduated, or candidates who are looking to pursuit a career as a fully chartered accountant. The role is offering 24,000 per annum.

  • You must have at least a minimum of a 2:1 degree and 3 A level passes at grade A-B
  • You must have your own transport

What to expect

First Year:

  • In your first year, you'll learn how to prepare financial accounts for various types of businesses and assist in audits by examining profit and loss sections. You'll also study essential subjects like Accounting, Assurance, Business & Finance, Law, Management Information, and Principles of Taxation.

Second Year:

  • During your second year, you'll build on your audit skills, completing all audit tasks under the guidance of a manager. You'll also gain experience in independently preparing statutory accounts with minimal supervision. Additionally, you'll delve into advanced topics such as Business and Planning, Business Strategy, Financial Management, Audit & Assurance, Financial Accounting & Reporting, and Tax Compliance.

Third Year:

  • In your third year, you'll take on more responsibility by planning and leading smaller audits and supervising a team. You'll review your team's work and receive feedback. Alongside your practical experience, you'll sit for and pass exams. In this final year, you'll tackle advanced subjects like Corporate Reporting, Strategic Business Management, and a Case Study as part of the ICAEW Advanced Level Modules.
