We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who has a background in education, care, or social work and thrives in a challenging environment. If you are flexible, open-minded, and passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, this could be the perfect role for you.

Day to day of the role:

  • Preparing learning materials under the supervision of a teacher.
  • Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom on a 1:1 or group basis.
  • Adapting your approach to learning depending on the pupil’s needs.
  • Looking after the child’s physical, social, and emotional welfare.
  • Creating a stimulating and safe environment for the children to work in.
  • Assisting the class teacher with any help and information they may need.
  • Keeping clear and accurate pupil records, such as attainment, progress, or activities.
  • Communicating with parents and professionals, sharing information as required with internal and external agencies to support pupils.
  • Working with the pupils on any care programmes, with the support of relevant professionals to the learner’s needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Patient and friendly approach.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of child development and learning.
  • Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required.
