A Day in the Life of a Team Leader in a Prison Service:

In this role, you'll take the lead in delivering high-quality mental health care within a secure environment. As the Team Leader, you will:

  • Oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health services within the prison

  • Provide clinical supervision, support, and guidance to staff

  • Coordinate service delivery and ensure adherence to policy and safeguarding procedures

  • Manage clinical risk and promote a culture of best practice and accountability

  • Maintain accurate records, lead handovers, and contribute to continuous service development

  • Work closely with prison staff, security teams, and external agencies to support offender wellbeing

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Relevant professional registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC, Social Work England)

  • Experience managing a clinical or healthcare team, ideally within a secure/prison setting

  • Active prison clearance is essential

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Sound knowledge of risk assessment, care planning, and safeguarding

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The contract is ongoing for an initial 3 months with the potential for extension depending on service needs and performance.
