You will be working in a well-respected Primary school with around 414 pupils currently. The school prides themselves on having a fantastic reputation.

Your new role:

This role is confirmed full time with a September start. Trial shifts will take place over the next couple of weeks. The position is confirmed for the full academic year. This position is a general Teaching Assistant role, supporting the class teacher with activities in a class of around 30 children. You will be supporting the pupils with their numeracy and literacy development. Duties relating to the role include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting teachers and other teaching assistants with day-to-day duties in the classroom.
  • Sharing lunchtime duties with the other members of staff out in the playground.
  • Supervising group activities.
  • Helping children who may need extra support to complete tasks.

What you will need to succeed:

To be successful in this role, it is necessary that you have experience working with children in the past 2 to 3 years. Some key attributes required will be for you to be respectful, dedicated and have a caring persona. You must be patient and understanding with an ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and staff. Additional relevant skills include being reliable and able to provide a calm response whilst in the classroom. Good time management skills are also necessary for the role.You must hold a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo a DBS check.
