Platform Resourcing are currently working in partnership with a business who work within the manufacturing sector supplying products to their global client base. Our client is looking to take on full time Yard Operative at their site in Newport.

This is a temporary contract vacancy which will be followed by a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. The initial temporary period will last for 12 weeks.

You will be offered an excellent salary, and a benefits package which includes holiday's, auto-enrolment contribution pension scheme and lucrative overtime opportunities.

Benefits:

Hours: 6am - 4pm Monday - Thursday, 6am - 1pm Friday
Salary: Basic wage of 11.50p/h rising to 12.50p/h after 3 months
After 3 months the first two hours of Monday - Thursday (6am to 8am) is paid at the higher rate of 15.33 + Additional Overtime on Weekends.
Saturday rate 15.33p/h
Sunday rate 17.25p/h
Regular breaks every 2 hours for 20 minutes.
Snacks/drinks provided throughout the day.

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of dedicated special purpose yard team, you will be required to work outside. YOU MUST be willing to work in all weather conditions within the yard.
Moving products around the yard safely.
Barrier maintenance, use of various hand tools.
Loading and unloading HGV vehicles
Ensuring safe storage of onsite products.
Accurately recording inventory
Working with other team members to reach targets.
Maintaining health and safety levels.

Essential Requirements

Previous working experience within a yard environment.
Due to the workload it is also essential that you are physically fit and able to lift minimum 25kg.
Excellent time management skills.
Understanding of the businesses needs and demands.
A self-starter with a positive, resilient and tenacious attitude.
Good communication and team working skills.
Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Access to own transport due to location.
Able to offer a level of flexibility due to overtime.
Forklift experience beneficial but not essential.
