Are you an experienced Logistics Manager with a background managing international shipping for a global engineering or manufacturing company? This role offers an excellent opportunity to make an impact, develop the worldwide logistics service offered to Clients and manage and support a team.You will need a strategic understanding of supply chains, strong negotiation skills, and in-depth knowledge of international trade regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement international logistics strategies, including import/export procedures, customs compliance, and international shipping methods.
  • Negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers (air, sea, land). Audit and day to day management of providers ensuring best fit and a seamless customer experience.
  • Implement robust systems and process improvements
  • Manage international shipping documentation and regulations and build relationships with international suppliers, freight forwarders.
  • Manage and train logistics staff
  • Stay up to date on international trade laws and regulations and be a subject matter expert working proactively with the Trade Compliance Manager to ensure all policies and processes are followed
  • Ensure compliance with all HMRC/trade-related regulations
  • Work proactively with internal stakeholders participating in the development of strategies and supply chain initiatives

Requirements

  • A degree in logistics or supply chain is essential
  • Experience fulfilling the responsibilities of the role
  • Excellent knowledge of international shipping requirements and documentation
  • Experience of Incoterms and working to them
  • Strong background and knowledge of shipping protocols, expert licencing and managing external logistics suppliers
  • Team management and development
  • Attention to detail and excellent IT skills
  • Positive and proactive mindset
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Full clean driving licence
