Tax Manager, Northallerton
The Role
Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a highly progressive firm of Chartered Accountants who continue to build an enviable reputation for providing excellent advice and first-class service to many clients in a wide variety of trade sectors.
The firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join the team to support the Partners with delivery of tax management, advice and compliance for a diverse portfolio of clients.
A desire to contribute and support the partners in developing the department is a key part of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be Chartered Tax qualified (CTA/CIOT) with a strong base of advisory experience working within the OMB sector, including:
- Support Partners with complex tax work
- Manage client relationships to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met
- Deliver tax planning and advisory for a varied client portfolio
- Build trusted and long-lasting client relationships through excellent advice and professional communication
- Completion and review of personal tax returns
- To coach and mentor junior employees, playing an active part in their career development
- Work as part of a team to ensure the tax department is meeting commercial targets
The firm are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a can-do attitude and understands the value of working as part of a team.
Skills and Qualities
The successful individual will have developed a successful career working within a firm of accountants or tax boutique and currently operating at Manager level.
Experience of self-assessment, corporate tax, partnership and trust taxation coupled with advising clients on a variety tax matters is essential.
