Electrical Controls Design Engineer
£50000 - £55000 Annual Tax Free Bonus 5% of Salary+ Health Insurance (70 % of salary paid for life), 10% Employer Pension.
This company develops test systems for some of the worlds most prestigious engineering businesses spanning Aerospace, Automotive and Power Generation sectors.
Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
- Have an active participation in engineering projects including interaction with customers & internal departments as required
- Test, diagnose & rectify faults to validate products
- Ensure designs meet legislative requirements
- Creation of system specifications & test documentation to a high standard
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical)
- Practical experience of designing & developing control & instrumentation systems
- Motor Inverter drive set up for variable speed applications
- Knowledge of any of the following advantageous:
- industrial communication protocols e.g. ProfiNET, EtherNetIP, EtherCAT
- Industrial wiring & switchgear, design & selection techniques
- Industrial sensors e.g. encoders, transducers
- Control loop design e.g. PID
- ATEX & EMC standards & design
- Electrical legislation & compliance techniques UKCA, CE, UL, CSA
Located in Northampton, this role would be commutable from Coventry, Northampton, Kettering & Rugby.
The role would also suit an experienced electrical design engineer or a control engineer who enjoys hardware element as part of their portfolio. The position can be combined with PLC software for the right candidate.
