Finance Manager

The Accountancy and Finance Division at The ONE Group is delighted to be working with a branded retail business in Northampton to assist them in hiring a Finance Manager. As the Finance Manager, you will be proficient in technical financial accounting, supporting the Senior Finance Manager in delivering financial reporting services for the UK business. You will handle complex P&L and Balance Sheet elements, ensuring strong financial controls. This role involves performance analysis, accurate reporting, and managing a team of two direct reports.

As the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of 2 accountants, preparing accurate monthly and annual reports.
• Month-End Reporting: Consolidate financial performance for the UK group.
• Technical Reporting: Deliver reports on liabilities, revenue recognition, and IFRS16 lease accounting.
• Performance Analysis: Analyse P&L and Balance Sheet variances to support financial performance insights.
• Audit Contribution: Prepare financial statements for annual audits, ensuring compliance with UK standards and IFRS.
• Technical Updates: Stay updated with financial developments and manage their adoption.
• Financial Controls: Enhance controls and processes impacting the P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Group Reporting: Ensure timely submission of mandatory group reports.
• Regulatory Compliance: Oversee reconciliations and reporting for UK regulatory returns.
• Internal Control: Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled regularly and address internal audit actions promptly.
• Collaboration: Build relationships across the business, balancing UK and global finance interests.
• Team Development: Invest in team development and engagement.

As the Finance Manager, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 2+ years of post-qualification experience, primarily in IFRS
• Highly commercial with the ability to challenge across the business
• Advanced expertise with Excel (including interactive Excel and macros) and experience with SAP and Navision preferred but not essential
• Strong strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and growing business
