Payroll Administrator | Towcester, Northamptonshire | Up to £32,000 (DOE)
Looking to grow your payroll career in a friendly, client-focused environment? This could be a fantastic fit for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and being part of a firm that genuinely looks after its people.
We’re working with a respected independent firm in Northamptonshire who are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their outsourced services team. You’ll take responsibility for the payroll needs of around 200 clients - managing everything from monthly submissions to auto enrolment and pension scheme set-up.
This is a firm that values wellbeing as much as technical ability - with on-site gym access, early finishes on Fridays, mental health support, and even a team ski trip every year, they’ve built a positive, inclusive workplace where people genuinely enjoy what they do.
What the role looks like:
You’ll manage the end-to-end payroll process for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. This includes liaising directly with clients, submitting RTI and pension contributions, setting up new PAYE and pension schemes, and invoicing payroll fees.
You’ll also support clients with salary planning at the start of the tax year and assist with any payroll queries, all while working in a relaxed, supportive office environment.
What they’re looking for:
- Experience managing payroll for multiple clients (preferably within practice)
- Familiarity with auto enrolment, PAYE and pension submissions
- Good communication and client service skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage deadlines and prioritise effectively
- Positive, proactive and comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
Why join?
- Early finish Fridays and free lunch from the on-site café
- On-site gym access included
- Birthday off work - not taken from holiday allowance
- One extra holiday day per year after 5 years’ service
- One month sabbatical after 10 years’ service
- Additional activities like Active August, charity events and team challenges
- Annual ski trip - fully paid 3-night trip to the mountains
- Mental Health First Aiders and paid therapy sessions
- Dental, optical, GP and therapy cover via WPA
- Financial wellbeing support including free mortgage advice
- Cycle to work scheme
- Fun, inclusive culture that values each person equally
