4Recruitment Services are seeking a Family Support Worker to provide services to our client based in Northampton.

You will be required to  

  • Provide direct support to children and families, focusing on behaviour management, establishing routines and boundaries, supervising contact sessions, transporting children, and engaging in direct work with children.
  • Support social workers providing assistance in interventions and assessments to ensure the well-being and stability of the families that access the service,

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Direct Support: Provide direct support to children and families, offering guidance and assistance in behaviour management, establishing healthy routines, and setting appropriate boundaries.
  • Contact Supervision: Supervise contact sessions between children and their families, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all parties involved.
  • Transportation: Safely transport children to and from appointments, visits, and other necessary locations as required.
  • Direct Work with Children: Engage in direct work with children, utilizing age-appropriate methods to build rapport, address concerns, and promote emotional well-being.
  •  Collaboration: Work closely with social workers to support interventions and assessments, contributing insights and observations to assist in decision-making processes.
  • Resource Referral: Identify and connect families with relevant community resources and support services to address their specific needs and challenges.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and assistance during crisis situations, following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved parties.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children and families in a support capacity.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques, child development, and family dynamics.
  • Previous experience working in a social services or child welfare setting.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
