An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a dynamic and expanding SME for an initial 6 month contract- looking to go permanent. This role offers the chance to work within a small, supportive team, maintaining Purchase Ledgers across the entire organisation.

Responsibilities-

  • Update and maintain Purchase Ledger's across the whole organisation
  • Support reconciliation work and other accounting matters
  • Enter invoices received correctly and accurately onto Purchase Ledger using correct nominal codes
  • Maintain accurate supplier details
  • Reconciliation of PSO bank account, main bank account purchase transactions, and business
  • Ensure that all reconciled transactions have corresponding source documentation attached, where possible
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements received against ledger balances
  • Provide daily feedback to FC/Accounts team for chased supplier payments
  • Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Undertake any ad-hoc tasks or other finance-related work as needed.

Ideal candidate-

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills are essential
  • Degree or equivalent / AAT qualification would be highly beneficial but not essential
  • Accounting skills, including reconciliation abilities and knowledge of accounting systems are required
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated with Sage 50cloud and Paperless experience
  • Strong analysis, organisation and planning skills are required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary
  • Ability to follow internal procedures and effectively apply methodology, standards, and best practice
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn complex concepts
  • Excellent customer service skills and polite telephone manner
