REED Accountancy and Finance are recruiting for a dedicated Management Accountant to join our clients close-knit Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily accounting matters, regular tax topics, and financial reporting. This role includes supporting the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and annual statutory accounts for the wider business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or nearly qualified management accountant with a strong understanding of accounting methods and practices, to join a growing business where they can really have a positive impact.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, posting journals, and preparing management reports.
• Producing financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and commentaries.
• Producing annual statutory accounts in management accounts format and engage with budget holders.
• Owning and reconciling technical accounting areas on the balance sheet, including Fixed Assets, VAT, and employee PAYE.
• Reviewing short-term cash flows and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
• Serving as the main contact for the finance team on operational activity, including payroll, and completing the end-to-end payroll process.
• Engaging with management and operational teams to provide financial analysis, support, and recommendations.
• Seeking process efficiencies and opportunities to maximise profitability and cash.
• Reviewing monthly VAT submissions to HMRC.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Qualified or nearly qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
• Able to apply accounting methods and practices.
• Able to work under pressure, independently or within a team.
• Able to communicate accounting topics effectively to non-finance individuals.
• Approachable and service-oriented with good practical MS Office skills/experience.
