A highly regarded manufacturer of specialised products is looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist due to continued growth and expansion.

Job Profile
As the successful CNC Machinist (Multi-Skilled Miller / Turner), you will experience working in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, in a small but growing team in the Machining department.
Your main function will be to machine components and assemblies to drawings, customer requirements and in line with the company’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental procedures.
Working on CNC Milling & CNC Turning machines (XYZ Mills and Lathes – Prototrack / Siemens).

Duties:
  • Machining parts and components, working on CNC Milling and CNC Turning machines (all XYZ machines with Prototrack / Siemens controls).
  • Read engineering drawings and determine the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications, and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting.
  • Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts.
  • Oversee cutting process, adjust where necessary throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate errors.
  • Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, coolant, cleaning, and tool replacement.
  • Work in accordance with company checklists and procedures, only signing off work where you are completely confident it meets the specification.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and wear correct PPE.
  • Checking programs for colleagues.
  • Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and teamwork.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Work safely, ensuring the wellbeing of yourself and those around you.
  • Machine start-up / shut down.
  • Identify and report potential injury causes in the workplace.

Skills & Attributes:
  • Experience in CNC Machining and programming and interpreting CNC software.
  • Experience of reading and working to drawings, including tolerances and dimensions
  • Pro-active Communication with colleagues and customers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Team working skills including communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution.
  • Attention to detail and natural curiosity to thoroughly investigate and problem solve.
  • Values precision and enforces quality standards.
  • Comfortable using tools and maintaining machinery.
  • Apprenticeship in Machining or equivalent is desirable.
  • Previous experience of Prototrack / Siemens controls is desirable but not essential.

Hours of Work:
  • Number of hours per week
  • 7 am to 4 pm, Monday to Thursday, 7 am to 12 noon Friday
  • Regular overtime available (weekdays and Saturday mornings)
