The Role...

We are currently looking to recruit for the role of Maintenance Technician at our Sandiacre  facility and would be interested to hear from anyone wishing to put themselves or a person they know forward as a candidate for this position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all site facilities, plant and equipment as well as the upkeep of all relevant documentation. The principle responsibilities of this role can include, but are not limited to:

  • Working at height and confined space working will occur from time to time and the role is best suited to industrial biased electricians.
  • Observe and conform at all times to Safe Working Practices and current Health and Safety Requirements
  • Follow a maintenance schedule to ensure that all routine tasks are completed
  • Actively complete any dynamic risk assessments, method statements and permits required
  • Tasks completed must conform to the Quality Standards and Internal Quality Assurance Work Instructions
  • Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements
  • Accurately and efficiently carry out all aspects of mechanical maintenance tasks as directed by the business
  • Self-Inspect work prior to commissioning plan after installation or repair
  • Work with both Maintenance Manager & Supervisor with a view to improving standards and reducing costs
  • Complete all Maintenance and Shift Reports as requested accurately and in a timely manner

About You...

Essential

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or similar qualification or time-served in mechanical discipline
  • Previous practical experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with the current wiring legislation i.e. 18th Edition
  • Ability to effectively analyse, record and interpret data
  • Self-motivated
  • Team player
  • Communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines
  • Innovative problem solver

Desirable

  • Rail industry experience
  • HNC/ HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of PLC controls
