Working Foreman (Retail Fit Out)

Think Recruitment are working with a retail fit out contractor. They are looking for a Working Foreman to join their team on a permanent basis to assist on shop fitout projects nationally.

As Working Foreman you will oversee and actively participate in the fit out process. You need to have a background in joiner, combined with proven leadership abilities to manage a team effectively. This role requires hands-on involvement in all aspects of the project, from planning and scheduling to execution and quality control.

Duties

• Lead and motivate a team of tradespeople to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with Contract Manager and/or Director to develop work plans and schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
• Coordinate with trades and suppliers to procure materials and services as needed.
• Oversee the installation of fixtures, fittings, and finishes to meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any issues or discrepancies in workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide ongoing training and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

The Person:

• Trade qualification in carpentry or relevant field is preferred.
• SMSTS qualification
• Preferably with First Aid Certificate
• Proven experience in a leadership role, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Familiarity with construction safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work and stay away from home.

Salary is 22 to 23 per hour; guarenteed 12 hour paid day. Paid PAYE weekly.
