Client Details

Our client is a fast-growing eCommerce business based in Nottingham, specialising in delivering high-quality products directly to customers across the UK. As they scale their operations, they're seeking a highly organised and experienced Senior Stock Controller to manage and optimise their inventory processes, ensuring product availability while minimising waste and costs.

Description

  • Oversee and manage all stock control activities, including incoming stock, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
  • Maintain and improve stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Analyse stock levels and sales trends to forecast demand and recommend stock replenishment.
  • Work closely with Finance, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth stock flow.
  • Identify and address inventory discrepancies, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead inventory reporting, providing regular updates and insights to the senior management team.
  • Optimise stock holding to balance availability and working capital.
  • Support system implementations or upgrades related to inventory management.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (if applicable) to ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Mentor and support the junior stock controller.

Profile

A successful Senior Stock Controller should have:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in stock control or inventory management, preferably in an eCommerce or retail environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Familiarity with stock control systems
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in using ERP systems.
  • Understanding of warehouse processes and logistics.
  • Experience working with 3PL providers.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
