LTF Recruitment are looking to appoint a Pastoral Assistant for a welcoming secondary school located in the Nottingham, NG2 area. The school are looking for a positive and warm individual to provide support to the school's pastoral lead.

Job Role: Support the pastoral manager with creating a positive learning environment for students, building positive relationships and working to improve behaviours & attendance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the pastoral lead, working collaboratively to improve behaviours and attendance and liaising with all relevant staff
  • Provide targeted assistance within the classroom setting to students experiencing challenges related to social, emotional or mental health (SEMH)
  • Conduct 1-1 sessions with students to address specific pastoral concerns
  • Working with the school's pastoral team to respond to on call support
  • Regularly review and modify educational plans based on ongoing assessment and progress monitoring
  • Complete risk assessments for students, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for them
  • Build positive relationships with students, working towards positive behaviours

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a school pastoral role/similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in your ability to effectively support students
  • A passion for education & supporting students to reach their full potential
