Do you have experience in supporting children with additional needs? Are you seeking your next role within education? Empowering Learning are delighted to be supporting a school in the NG3 area who are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full time basis.

The role is full time and the contract will begin as soon as possible. The role begin ASAP and will be on a full time basis

The hours of work will be 08:30 - 16:00.

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Holds at least one years experience working in a school environment
  • Possesses previous experience of supporting SEN children
  • Can easily build relationships with children who struggle to engage in class
  • Has a TA qualification or a relevant degree
  • Will work effectively as a team player
  • Has a sound understanding of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum's

The main duties within the role will be:

  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis who present with a range of needs
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO around progress of the children
  • Following the targets set on children's educational health care plans
  • Supporting the teaching and learning within the classroom
