Silver Swan is currently seeking an experienced Housekeeper for a lovely Couple based near Rutland, Leicestershire. The successful Housekeeper can work part time, but if candidates are passionate about Gardening and the outdoors, we can make this role full time for the right person. We are looking for a Housekeeper with previous experience working in private households. You will be looking after a stunning Grade listed country manor house, with 10 bedrooms, and 50 acres of gardens and grounds. My clients have a daughter who is in boarding school, and small dog who is part of the family - animal lovers are a must!
The Housekeeper will be provided with a beautiful Victorian cottage in the village. If this role is part time, the working hours would be 25 hours per week, and if the successful Housekeeper wished to work full time in the gardens as well as the household, the working week would be 40 hours per week.
Please note: candidates MUST already have the right to live and work in the UK. Unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates who are not eligible to live and work in the UK will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
- General daily Housekeeper duties
- Laundry and ironing
- Caring for delicate clothing and fabrics
- Assist with dinner parties and functions - no cooking involved
- Caring for fine art, antiques, fine furnishings
- Experience clearing and laying fires - there are 5 open fireplaces in the house
- Household shopping and errands
- Dog sitting when my clients are away would be a huge bonus but not essential
Ideal candidate:
- MUST have the right to live and work in the UK
- Driver essential
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Someone who can hit the ground running and won’t require too much training
- Responsible and reliable
- Someone who can work alone and use initiative
Package:
- Working week: 25 hours / week OR 40 hours / week with gardening and grounds help
- Start: ASAP
- Accommodation: 2 bedroom cottage in the village. Ideally no pets
- Salary: £20k+ part time OR £30-32k full time
