ToolmakerJob RoleOur client, a manufacturer of specialist packaging products in Oakham, currently has an immediate opportunity for a Toolmaker. The role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team that is currently experiencing a significant level of growth. The ideal candidate will have injection moulding experience within the plastic packaging industry.Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current Health and Safety Legislation
  • Work in conjunction with the Tool Room Manager/Tool Room Supervisor to ensure all breakdowns and maintenance on tools is carried out on a regular basis.
  • To repair and maintain mould tools.
  • Successfully modify tools to drawing.
  • Able to understand technical drawings
  • Undertake any other duties as necessary to fulfil the needs of the job and its objective as and when requested by the Tool Room Manager/Supervisor.
Person Specification
  • Injection mould tool maintenance and repair experience
  • CNC machining experience advantageous 
  • Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Possess reasonable experience of grinders, lathes etc.
  • Computer literate
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience
Hours of Work and Pay 
  • Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm (40 Hours per week)
  • Starting salary £40k per annum
  • 33 days holiday
