I have recently had an exciting opportunity come up to work with a national organisation as a Managing Quantity Surveyor. You will be working within the social housing planned refurbishment programme on various projects and you will be based from home/office and on-site. The role involves leading a team of commercially focused employees to evaluate information to help understand and present the costs for the designated refurbishment projects.

Skills needed in the Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

  • You will have experience of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Construction industry
  • Ideal if you have an understanding of the Social Housing sector
  • Ideal if you possess experience of managing a small team of QS's while also managing your own projects
  • You will have strong commercial acumen and excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of IT and proficient office skills

Responsibilities of the Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Assist Commercial Manager with effective financial management during pre-commencement stage in order to reduce risk and increase target contribution prior to commencement on site
  • Play fundamental role within the site team to ensure the efficient delivery of each scheme
  • Undertake financial management and accurate reportage, in accordance with company procedures
  • Carry out key commercial tasks such as bonus payments, subcontract procurement and management, site measurement and internal and external valuations
