Team Manager - PermanenceLocation: OldhamSalary: £48,474 - £51,515 with a £2,000 retention paymentJob Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager for our Permanence team, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and well-being of children who cannot remain with their birth families. This position requires strategic leadership, quality assurance, and a strong understanding of legal processes related to permanence. The successful candidate will manage and lead a team of social work and social care staff, ensuring flexible, reliable, and responsive service delivery.

Day to Day of the role:Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with organisational goals and policies.Implement quality assurance systems to maintain high standards of practice.Guide social workers in selecting suitable permanence options for children.Provide quality supervision to social workers and advanced practitioners.Manage delegated budgets efficiently and promote staff development.Ensure Care & Support Plans are established, implemented, monitored, and reviewed effectively.Liaise with third-party debt collectors, solicitors, and other professionals in a multi-disciplinary setting.Chair meetings and coordinate activities, contributing to audits and inspections of the Service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:A Social Work Degree or equivalent recognised Social Work Qualification, e.g. DipSW.Registration with Social Work England.Experience in managing and motivating staff.Experience in supervising staff and developing team skills.Proficiency in using electronic systems for maintaining records.Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and national guidelines.Ability to analyse data, produce statistics, and write reports.Willingness to participate in learning and training activities.Driving Licence or able to travel independently across the Borough of Oldham.
