Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Are you passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and reach their full potential? We are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our Oldham school.

Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing pastoral care and guidance to students who may require additional support with their behaviour and emotional well-being. Working closely with teachers and the pastoral team, you will implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and create a nurturing learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and group support to students with challenging behaviour.

Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions in collaboration with the pastoral team.

Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation in learning activities.

Support students in developing social and emotional skills to manage their behaviour effectively.

Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to relevant staff members.

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges, is desirable.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish trust.

Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting students' needs.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow school policies and procedures.

Resilience and adaptability to respond effectively to challenging situations.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
