Client Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Financial Controller to join a leading global manufacturing company. This key role focuses on financial control and cost management, supporting R&D and engineering teams across multiple business units.

Description

  • Lead financial control for technology business units, focusing on budget management, cost reporting, and variance analysis.

  • Oversee and develop the cost management processes, including charge-out rates and project time allocation for engineering teams.

  • Manage a small, developing finance team (two direct reports).

  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders (C-suite) to deliver accurate, timely financial insights.

  • Support strategic initiatives including budgeting, year-end reporting, and process optimisation.

  • Collaborate with tax teams to streamline complex cost structures and financial processes.

  • Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting tools; support the ongoing SAP transformation project.

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

  • Strong people management skills, ideally with experience leading small teams.

  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on role where systems and processes may require development and improvement.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with global teams and support complex financial structures.

  • Familiarity with SAP or large ERP systems is desirable.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to both "run the numbers" and develop the role for greater efficiency and impact.

Job Offer

  • Salary in the region of £55,000 to £70,000 DOE plus bonus.
