This is an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist in the industrial / manufacturing industry based in Lathom. The successful candidate will be part of the Procurement & Supply Chain team, contributing to the procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships.

Description
- Develop and implement category strategies that fully align with the global strategy
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement action plans.
- Continually assess market trends and supplier capabilities.
- Maintain accurate procurement records.
- Manage risks associated with procurement and supply chain.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Profile
A successful 'Category Specialist' should have:
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain within the industrial / manufacturing industry, with a proven track record of cost savings
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of procurement systems and software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to travel for supplier visits (domestic & European)
Job Offer
- Annual salary of up to 45,000 per annum
- 25 days of holiday, plus bank holidays
- Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week)
