Description
The Assistant Accountant will be supporting the Finance team and be responsible for the day to day transactional accounting duties for the company:
- Processing invoices, gaining authorisation for payment, payment runs via BACS
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Allocation of cash
- Banking of cheques
- Reconciling bank statements and transactions
- Petty cash
- Expenses
- Posting journals
- Processing timesheets
- Providing administrative support to the Accounting & Finance department
- Involved in system implementations over the coming year
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
- Previous experience in a transactional finance role, ideally with previous experience of accounts payable and bank reconciliations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ideally studying AAT/ACCA
- Able to commute into the office 3 days a week
