This is an exciting opportunity for an immediately available Assistant Accountant to join an established organisation based in Oxford on a temporary rolling contract (full-time) expected to last around 6 months+.

Description
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:
- Uploading daily bank transactions for from Sage Treasury for the team to allocate against the customer accounts on SAP
- Uploading the monthly bank transactions from Sage treasury on to SAP and allocating the transactions against bank clearing account for all UK entities
- Bank reconciliations for around 15 bank accounts ensuring the closing monthly balances agree to the Corporate cash pooling balances
- Supporting in preparing 3 months cash-flow forecast
- Preparing weekly payments forecast for the Corporate treasury team
- Making vendor payments for all UK entities
- Uploading the receipts for the credit card expenses and reconciling monthly credit card statements
- Delivery of the month-end process, analysing transactions and preparing required journals for the team to post
- Dealing with queries and ensuring high-quality work is delivered by the team
- Supporting the team with the annual group and statutory audit
- Supporting the internal stakeholders with vendor payment queries and other finance queries
- To be proactive and take initiatives in reviewing and improve processes and procedures in relation to the accounting systems and reconciliation processes and ensuring the integrity of the accounting records through strong internal controls
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting finance staff as required or assigned
Profile
The Assistant Accountant will be/have:
- Treasury experience with multi-currency knowledge
- Experience in a similar role with an accounting background
- IT literate with strong Excel and Accounting system/s knowledge
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Team player with positive attitude
- Be immediately available
