We're seeking a proactive and reliable Senior General Assistant to join a prestigious education provider in the heart of Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a unique and inspiring environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality catering services.

About the Role:

As a Senior General Assistant in Oxford, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our client's catering operations. You'll be working 5 out of 7 days, with weekends off on a rotating basis, and will be responsible for a variety of tasks across both early and late shifts. You will also assist in supervising a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the service of food to students and staff.
  • Assisting with food preparation, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality.
  • Performing general kitchen duties, including cleaning, washing up, and maintaining a tidy work environment.
  • Ensuring adherence to food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Managing stock and supplies as required.
  • Assisting in the supervision and training of junior staff.
  • Providing excellent customer service to all students, staff, and visitors.
  • Working a variety of early and late shifts, including some weekend work on a rotational basis.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a catering environment.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early and late shifts and some weekends.
  • Experience in supervising or leading a small team is desirable.

Essential Requirements:

  • A Food Hygiene and Allergen Certificate (we can support you in obtaining this).
  • A successful Enhanced DBS check (if you are on the DBS update service this is a bonus).
