This is a standalone HR Manager role, within an fascinating education related Organisation linked to Oxford University. You will manage all aspects of the HR mix for the 55 employees. The job will be very hands on, involved at the coal face with transactional work as well strategic.

The location is central Oxford, parking is available. Hours can be flexible, at least 22.5 per week, all office based with free parking.

The Role

The job is truly generalist and you will have a level of autonomy. You will be very hands on and happy to do all your own HR administration as well as develop and own HR policies and co-ordination of the employment lifecycle.

There are 55 employees, spread across a range of functions, including facilities, security, administrative, finance and Academics. Day to day, you will support with recruitment and onboarding, training coordination, appraisal and assessment, and disciplinary/grievance procedures.

You will have the support of your manager as a mentor and resources available, but will be expected to keep abreast of employment law type changes and recommend how changes are implemented, as well as taking ownership of generally evolving all HR processes and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

This is a generalist role so you will need to have sufficient HR experience and/or HR qualification to give confidence you have full employee lifecycle capability. The role will suit someone who would like to take full HR ownership and be exposed to every aspect, rather than being part of a large department in a narrow role. You will have your own office which is important for the privacy required to do the role, and therefore need to be self motivated to work in your own space. The personal traits seen as important are a genuine interest and capability to deal with people at all levels and cultures - this is an international and diverse team.
