An opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer (Contract) to join our Motorsport department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. As a mechanical Design Engineer, the individual will be responsible for the development and delivery of powertrain components and systems for high-performance applications in a range of racing series.

**Job Role:**

- Conceptualise, design, and develop mechanical components and assemblies within the project.

- Utilise NX CAD software to create detailed designs and drawings.

- Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate design concepts and optimise performance, cost, and manufacturability.

- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers to integrate mechanical components with electronic and software systems.

- Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturing (DFM) to ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency.

- Generate Bill of Materials (eBOM) and support procurement activities by specifying components and materials.

- Create and maintain documentation including design specifications, technical drawings, and component releases (CRS).

- Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities where requested.

- Identify faults, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

**Requirements:**

- Motorsport experience is preferred.

- Strong proficiency in NX CAD software.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Experience in conceptualising and designing mechanical components for high-performance applications.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- The design experience needs to be relevant to mechanical and/or electrical components within EV powertrain and or motorsport components (composites, cooling systems, suspension stressed metallics).
