Position Title: Senior Mechanical Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Supervisor specializing in Heating and Ventilation to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical systems, with a focus on heating and ventilation, and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills to manage a team effectively. This role requires a keen understanding of HVAC systems, safety regulations, and industry best practices to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  2. Provide technical guidance and support to HVAC technicians and maintenance staff to ensure efficient operation and adherence to safety standards.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement appropriate solutions.
  4. Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to procure necessary equipment, materials, and services for HVAC projects.
  5. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to prolong the lifespan of HVAC systems and minimize downtime.
  6. Train and mentor HVAC technicians on proper installation techniques, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  7. Monitor inventory levels of HVAC components and supplies, and reorder as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  8. Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC systems and environmental safety.
  9. Prepare reports, documentation, and work orders detailing HVAC activities, including repairs, upgrades, and installations.
  10. Collaborate with facility managers and stakeholders to address specific heating and ventilation needs and requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. NVQ level 3 or relevant qualification in heating and ventilation (Essential)
  2. Certification or licensure in HVAC systems installation and repair required.
  3. Proven experience (3- 5 years) working in a supervisory role overseeing HVAC operations.
  4. In-depth knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and controls.
  5. Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and OSHA standards.
  6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of technicians.
  7. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving HVAC issues.
  8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  9. Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
