Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Fawkes & Reece are currently assisting in the search for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable Main Contractor based in Oxford. The business is one which is in a strong financial position and one with an abundance of upcoming work in the region. They work across the education, commercial and healthcare sectors with projects valuing up to 35mil. Projects are administered typically by either Traditional or JCT forms of contract.
Our client is now looking to bring an additional Assistant Quantity Surveyor into the team to work on various schemes around the region, usually up to an hour radius of Oxford.
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Assisting with financial reporting and control
- Assisting with the continual monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.
- Commercial forecasting
- Assisting with the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable.
- Attending regular review and commercial control meetings.
- Liaise closely with the Design and Project Management leads to ensure cross control
- Management of Risk
- Management of contract variations
- Contract Review and production Meetings
- Main Contract and External Valuations and Final Accounts
- Management of Consultants and Subcontractors
- Feedback to the Commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.
- Provide constructive comments on improving efficiency
The ideal Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:
- A construction related degree / be working towards on
- Live within a commutable distance to Oxford
- Hold a valid UK Driving License
- Have the right to work in the UK
