About Us: We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in Paignton, dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for our students. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistants to join our team on a part-time or supply basis.
Job Description: As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons. Your main duties will include:
- Assisting in the preparation and delivery of classroom activities.
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
- Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Helping to manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Assisting with the planning and organization of school activities and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in managing classroom activities and administrative tasks.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Help prepare and organize learning materials and resources.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Foster a safe and encouraging learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role is preferred.
- A passion for working with children and supporting their educational development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are preferred but not essential.
- DBS clearance or willingness to undergo a DBS check.
