STEM RECRUITMENT SOLUTIONS are looking for an experience finance manager to join one of our most exciting biopharma clients for an 18 month fixed term contract.

Job Purpose:

The Finance Manager will oversee, lead, and develop the UK finance team, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with US GAAP and UK GAAP/IFRS. This role involves maintaining robust internal controls and accounting procedures while supporting business operations efficiently. The job description is loosely based on daily tasks as this role is fast paced and the duties can change depending on what support is needed within the department.

Responsibilities

Financial Management:

Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly book closures in accordance with US GAAP and annually with UK GAAP.

Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.

Lead the preparation and delivery of insightful monthly management accounts and analysis.

Structure reviews with business units comparing actuals versus budget and forecast.

Drive the forecasting and financial planning function.

Month-End Close:

Lead the month-end close process for the business.

Manage the team to deliver high-quality, timely outputs.

Prepare management accounts to trial balance and provide monthly analysis.

Review and improve balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accruals completeness.

Oversee operational manufacturing controlling and costing activities.

Ensure compliance with local laws, taxes, VAT, and other regulations.

Plan and execute annual financial audits and ensure zero errors.

Maintain and enforce the internal controls matrix.

Operational Finance Management:

Actively manage the AP process and optimise payment lists to suppliers.

Drive collections from customers and manage weekly cash flow reviews and forecasts.

Recommend currency exchanges and proactively challenge and improve processes and controls.

Supervise capital expenditure appraisals, Fixed Asset Register, and inventory costing.

Leadership:

Develop a high-performing finance team through planning, training, and reorganising.

Cultivate innovation to improve systems and operations.

Develop effective relationships with other business leaders.

Hold the team accountable for delivering results and commitments.

Support:

Assist with data submission to external auditors and annual budgeting processes.

Provide team training and support learning initiatives.

Offer holiday cover for colleagues including Head of Accounting and Controlling.

Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Extensive experience in financial management and leadership roles.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP/IFRS, and statutory requirements.

Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to drive change and improve financial processes.

Working pattern:

This position is hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. It also offers flexible working hours starting between 8am-10am and finishing between 4pm and 6pm.
